Forum Competitiveness

Mogens Lykketoft, chairman of Forum Competitiveness, says:

"Denmark has experienced a unique development in employment and competitiveness since the nineties. Forum Competitiveness is focused on how we can retain and further develop this position. We need to develop the positive interplay between business and the production of public services."

Ove K. Pedersen, manager of Forum Competitiveness:

"The relationship between business and policy is critical for Danish competitiveness. New knowledge in this field requires interaction between research and practical application. Forum Competitiveness is focused on both."

A think tank on the competitiveness of the future

Forum Competitiveness is a politically and financially independent body. Our interest is how the Danish welfare state and society in general can create sound conditions for business competitiveness. We stimulate the debate on the welfare society of the future via analyses and research projects. We also place emphasis on inclusion of the long-term perspectives in the current debate.

Forum Competitiveness has designated five areas of special interest for the period 2007-2008. These five areas, which are subjects for discussion, public conferences and research projects, are: public production of services, the financing of the welfare state, social exclusion, the welfare needs of the future, and service employees  in the public sector.
More details on these individual areas are given under areas of focus.
